Social Action & Tikkun Olam Committee

Volunteers working together on a community service project

Rooted in the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), our Social Action Committee organizes year-round initiatives that address hunger, housing, education, and social justice in our community. We believe that putting our values into action is a core expression of Jewish faith.

Current Initiatives

  • Monthly Meal Service: Prepare and serve meals at the Springfield Community Kitchen
  • Refugee Resettlement: Partner with local agencies to welcome and support refugee families
  • Interfaith Habitat Build: Annual home build with Habitat for Humanity
  • Voter Registration Drive: Non-partisan civic engagement during election seasons
  • Environmental Stewardship: Park cleanups, tree planting, and sustainability education

All congregants are invited to participate. No committee membership required. Check our calendar for upcoming service opportunities or contact socialaction@bethshalom.org.
